Has anyone seen Prince Rupert the Musical last night? Heard it was excellent!
No, but I’m hoping to go on closing night.
I went tonight, and I left during the intermission.
I heard it was awesome!! My son went tonite with Grandma and Nanny, I’ll find out how he liked it tomorrow
If he likes actors pretending (very badly) that they are drunk, jokes about Asian people who cannot pronounce the r, men in drag, and ill-rhyming lyrics, he’ll love it.

Lol, sounds like someone is a killjoy…

Well Adelita is entitled to his/her opinion. I didn’t see the production. It does sound like a real winner to me.
Hard work and love for our city are very commendable; still, they don’t automatically add up to what I consider quality entertainment.
Employee: …but boss, I’m working real hard!
Employer: …but, are you accomplishing anything?
My point exactly.
Well, it’s no Mikado, but for something created by Rupertites for Rupertites, I have to say I really enjoyed the show last night. It was a little long, but then it is trying to cover a hundred years of community history.
There’s humour, pathos, and history. It’s great!
Half an opinion.
A lot of time goes into a production and I went to last night’s performance. Well done!! Thank you for those who organized it, the actresses and actors, and those who wrote it. Just a glimpse of some of the history here. A great performance and thank you.
I saw it…very well done! Congratulations to everyone who contributed. A great example of community spirit and engagement! Unfortunately, there will always be a critic, but they seem to be habitual moaners who could never be pleased or find goodness in anything. Hats off to the “community” for their contributions!
I really enjoyed it last night!
I saw the musical on Friday and thought there were some highlights and lowlights involved…however, to address 100 years of history in song and dance took some ingenious manoeuvering.

I would just like to add my thanks to the entire crew. From an original story to original music (I still catch myself humming one of the songs) to the acting, singing, dancing, directing, set construction etc etc. this was community theatre at its very best.
I also liked the little touches that added to the reality of actors portraying real people. The red sweater - Pete Lester. The black turtleneck - Herb Pond. But the guy who played Gary Coons was sheer genius. Every silly mannerism was nailed to perfection. Lois was there the same night I was. I hope she went home with the right guy.
Was the play recorded as a film?
For some of us who were not fortunate enough to attend the play, is there a way of viewing this film so that we may all enjoy it?
Channel 10 was there filming it on Thursday and Friday, so it should play on 10 in a little while. There’s also still the matinee performance in May during homecoming if peole want to see it live.
