Northwest towns eye billions in revenues from resource boom

vancouversun.com/business/no … story.html

“The alliance communities of Terrace, Kitimat, Stewart, New Hazelton and the Village of Hazelton say they are already dealing with infrastructure deficits, including at the Terrace airport that needs upgrading to help deal with a massive increase in traffic related directly to the resource development.”

So I guess Prince Rupert is not part of that alliance?

Is this another missed opportunity by our civic leaders? Or do they plan to go it alone and try to get more?

Something tells me they will make more noise about this if they teamed up with the other Northern cities who are going after this industrial money.

Prince Rupert is part of the SQCRD while the others are part of the kitimat/stikine RD. It appears to be an RD initiative.
