AAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK! Driving me CRAAAAZY!
I sure as hell don’t miss them. By the time we moved away from there, whenever I got bit it felt like I had the tip of a hot cigarette touching my skin and I got bit whenever I was in a shady spot, which was most of our back yard. Made enjoying summers up there a right bitch I have to tell you!
AMEN to that!
Although compared to the bugs in Mackenzie, I’ll take the no see ums. Black flies, mosquitoes and spruce bugs are MUCH worse. Hrmm…although the summer in Mackenzie was way shorter than even here - so maybe it’s not a tradeoff? LOL
For me, they only itch when the bug is biting, then they just go a little red and dissapear.
You’ll get used to them Princess.
Short trip.
What’s this thing you call summer?
Carry a fabric softener towel in your pocket, and even rub in on your arms, legs and face. Careful of the eyes there, mate.
Around the time when the Cruise ships first started coming in. I heard a rumor of a tarantula getting loose from one of the passengers. Anyways, up at McKay street where my mother used to live at the time, there were some pretty huge brown spiders that we’ve never seen b4. Probably around 3 inches wide and an inch & a half tall. I dunno if that tarantula had mated with a local spider to create these.
Here is a similar picture of what we saw. And they came around often. But that was only just for that summer.
That crap never worked for me. Bug spray with as much deet as you can (or are willing) to handle - or this fantastic suit from Lee Valley: leevalley.com/garden/page.as … 2407,33240
