Polyvinyl acetate glue (Elmers glue for example) hardens out of the bottle because the solvent evaporates.&nbsp; When it’s still in the bottle the solvent can’t evaporate.&nbsp;

Krazy Glue or cyanoacrylate undergoes a chemical reaction in the presence of water (hydroxyl ions really) to polymerize and bond.&nbsp; In other words you need to expose it to water which is readily available.&nbsp; For example on your finger tips, on most surfaces, in the atmosphere.&nbsp;
