Last two Bill Reid pieces recovered

The RCMP announced this morning that they had recovered the final two pieces by Haida artist Bill Reid that were stolen from the UBC Museum of Anthropology back in May.

The gold eagle brooch was recovered intact while a carved argillite pipe was recovered with approximately two inches of it broken-off. That piece remains missing and RCMP continue seeking any information which will lead to the recovery of the broken-off piece from the carved argillite pipe. All 12 of the pieces have been returned to the museum and are being examined for their suitability for exhibition when the museum opens next March.
