For love of llamas

There are nine llamas at the old Inverness cannery site along the mouth of the Skeena River. And while the llamas are settling in like nobody’s business, no one is more surprised than their owners Ed Day and his wife Alice Kruta.
The couple have raised llamas in the Hazelton area since 1993, but four years ago, when they bought the old Inverness Cannery property outside of Port Edward from Jimmy Pattison, with plans to possibly develop a campground with cabins, they thought they might have to give up on the llamas. After all, this is the land of rain and muskeg and attempts at raising livestock have been short-lived.
Not quite ready to let the llamas go, Day began bringing a few to his home in Port Edward, deciding to play it by ear.
“We had them in the back of our yard in a corral and discovered they loved the bush here. They were cleaning it up as fast as we could give it to them. There was a real backyard clean up going,â€
Awww… They should have got Alpaca’s, so cute and so friendly! Theres an Alpaca farm 5 minutes from my house, and whenever I cycle past they all wander over to the fence to see whats going on!
Then again, I think their cuteness is offset by the Ostrich farm next door… viscous bastards! I got chased by one a few years ago… holy crap those things are fast!
And Llamas or Camels very rarely spit! If they don’t see you as a threat, they wont honk a foul smelling loogie at you!
This reader should place more emphasis on the message and less on the form.
However, the form is without flaw.
It’s a case of “tree versus forest” … proxy(mity) versus straight forward access … you know very well what I mean.

For pete sake ! The lamas are awesome, i checked them out a few times and the guy that owns the property seems nice too i worked right by his place for a few days .
It’s called Prince Rupert Common Simplified English, and it’s not limited to internet use. They will laugh if you write in a grammatically correct form of Canadian English.
Hello,
Our names are Ed Day & Alice Kruta.
The llamas are ours. We have had llamas for over 14 years, and it just felt really empty without them.
They are adapting well, Ed has been planting various types of seed grass…still waiting.
Any chance you can post some photos? I think they are so cute! When I lived in the Okanagan, there were a few llama farms around the Summerland area. Their wool is fantastic and I had a gorgeous sweater made for me down there. Good Luck with your “fellas”
