I know the peeps down by Cow Bay Cafe went out of business, but apparently there is another place where you can rent them now??

Does anyone have any information???

yeeeaah cool pics!! butze is apparently a world-class tidal surf feature…schweet.

so here are the rates:
$35 for 4 hours, unguided.
you phone them and they meet you at rushbrooke with kayak, paddles, lifejackets (i dont know if they have the pumps and all that as well, I’d imagine they do).

I am going to ask them if they’d cut you a deal for overnight trips…

I know several people who kayak. Are you interested in Ocean or river Kayaking? There is a group from Smithers that likes to come down to Kayak Butze when the tides are impressive. They are into river kayaking. But we have an Ocean kayak and know many people with the same. I can ask around for you if you wish.

both really, but i’m kind of strapped for cash with me going back to school in the fall right now.

I’d like to get a river kayak because I like being in the mountains, and zooping along creeks and stuff, and its also a bit cheaper.

I’d like to get an ocean touring kayak because I’d like to be able to tour around and go places to camp and explore, but its a bit more expensive.

Right now its on the “wish list”, but its definitely been short-listed…

If you ever get an ocean kayak or need help getting equipment I can give you my dads number. Him and a bunch of guys go out kayaking around the ridely terminal area a few times a week.

The #1 reason I like kayaking:

You go at your own pace. Paddle paddle, 10 minute break. Paddle paddle, 20 minute break. I hate canoeing, you always gotta go at somebody else’s pace.

WOOO HAIR

My brother made his very own traditional qayaq a few years back. The body looked very similar to this, except he used more ribs.

and the finished product looked like this:

He ended up taking it out a few times and selling it for 800. We have another one in the works in our garage, but my old man hasnt gotten around to finishing it.
