Looks like Katrina’s going to be doing some major damage…

Maybe the Charles Hays Athletic Department should name their Dumbo-looking mascot Katrina.

“New Orleans Is Sinking”

Bourbon blues on the street loose and complete
Under skies all smoky blue-green
I can Forksake the dixie dead shake
So we dance the sidewalk clean
My memory is muddy what’s this river I’m in
New Orleans is sinking and I don’t want to swim

Colonel Tom What’s wrong? What’s Going On
You can’t tie yourself up for a deal
He said" Hey North you’re south shut you big mouth
You gotta do what you feel is real."
Ain’t got no picture postcards ain’t go no souvenirs
My baby she don’t know me when I’m thinking about thoes years

Pale as a light bulb hanging on a wire
Sucking up to someone just stoke the fire
Picking out the highlights of the scenery
Saw a little cloud looked a little like me

I had My hand in the river
My feet back up on the banks
Looked up to the lord above and said hey man thanks
Some time I fell so good I gotta scream
She says Gordie baby I know exactly what you mean
She said, she said I swear to god she said

My memory is muddy what’s this river I’m in
New Orleans is sinking and I don’t want to swim
It will be really cheap in the Big Easy at Christmas!

Interesting thread here:

There is a possibility of Eso Bros. hitting the bayou this November.

Parts of Victoria are sinking. The whole part of downtown where the empress and other building sit didn’t exist, they filled it in when they “created” the waterfront.

On the disaste topic. I have been recieving earthquake activities for the past hour now…Something is going on down south. :open_mouth:
I signed up for earthquake activity reports around Van and California areas.
Just in case we need to evac.

That was the 3rd one this hour. There was a 4.2, and 4.4.

So whom ever is asking about "Is this it?"
It will be soon :exclamation:

Anything less than five on the richter scale is considered light. There are about 6200 earthquakes every year that measure in the four range. Besides, the Richter scale has often been criticized as measuring only the magnitude, and not the intensity, which are quite different. Plus, it only measures it at the epicenter, not in other areas affected by the quake.

Triangulation. What can’t it do?

Look what is going on now.
NEW ORLEANS - Fights and fires broke out, corpses lay out in the open, and rescue helicopters and law enforcement officers were shot at as flooded-out New Orleans descended into anarchy Thursday. “This is a desperate SOS,” the mayor said. Anger mounted across the ruined city, with thousands of storm victims increasingly hungry, desperate and tired of waiting for buses to take them out.

Total Chaos man. The fucken US government.
But those people were warned to get the fuck out!

IDIOTS TOO!

I remember watching a KCTS9 production on the levees 10 years or more ago. A geological engineer stated that they weren’t adequate. Now I hear Bushbaby pulled all the funding for upgrading the levee system.
