I agree with your observations that many forms of human organizations created by humans are capable of both good and evil.  In a well functioning democracy, there are a strong set of checks and balances to ensure that no one group gains absolute power. Right now there is no effective check and balance to globalization and the power of Global Corporations.

With this in mind, your use of Reagan’s pet right wing economist Milton Friedman is interesting given it was his doctrines that were followed to gain world dominance for the US and it’s Corporate interests. Mr. Friedman’s political philosophy extolled the virtues of a free market economic system with little intervention by government. It was his political theories which were followed by Bush in removing effective regulatory oversight in the US financial markets and which led to the global financial market meltdown that ordinary citizens will be paying for well into the future.    

You may wish to read the Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein a Canadian Writer and Economist to see another view of how Mr. Friedman’s political philosophy was put to use by the US government and US corporate interests.

One of her examples in the Shock Doctrine is the horrific damage done to Chilean Democracy by Friedman disciples “The Chicago Boys” exported to Chile from the Chicago School of Economics. naomiklein.org/shock-doctrine

While you may not agree with Ms. Klein’s conclusions on how Corporate America’s “free marketâ€
