The International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) and the B.C. Maritime Employer’s Association (BCMEA) are still in the process of finding an agreement to end the threat of job action.
The two parties met with John Rooney, one of two federally appointed mediators, on January 15 for a meeting that lasted most of the day. During the course of the meeting they exchanged proposals and will meet again at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, January 23.
