Closed in both directions 4 km west of Terrace because of Rock Slide. Updated on Fri Oct 30 at 10:54 am.
It was closed earlier, then open for a bit this morning (1-lane).
Spoke with the district manager of highways and it will be opened to let the line-up of traffic through before being closed again to stabilize the rock face.
Been to Rupert ONCE and got trapped for 5 days by a rockslide. Been to Terrace 3 or 4 times, first time got trapped for 2 days by a mudslide.
Then some Reptilian Yank on another site starts carrying on that if not for the protection of our Overlords the Chicoms could land in Rupert and be in Vancouver within a week.
Yeah right. If there wasn’t even one stick of dynamite between Rupert and Smithers maybe.
We snuck through at 7:30 this morning - just flaggers and big lights up at that time.
It did look like there was more rock getting ready to come down behind - quite a mess.
The highway is open now. I guess they may close it when they’re working on it. It’s down to 1-lane.
Photos from around 3:30
Useless peeple. First container cranes to small to unload main battle tank, now take three days and road still too narrow.
We turn around go home now invade someone who notices at least.

that is one pinner ass rockslide.
Highway is Closed again due to High Possible “Water/mud Slid” but who knowes for how long (at a different locations)
its not saying it is closed on the drive safe bc website
just single alternating traffic that one area…
We drove through from Terrace to Rupert last night. Left Terrace about 11:30pm, the highway was open. In fact, other than the single lane traffic at the rock slide, the drive was great. Clear roads the whole way, the odd puddle here and there. Raindow Summit to Rupert was a pain with the amount of rain that was comming down, but other than that everything was good.
Good to here! The police were stating on there that the highway was closed, but, wasn’t to sure.
The rockslide is completely cleared off the road now. We came through there just before 10 last night and both lanes were open with all the equipment and rubble piled up on the side of the road for a good 100 metres towards Rupert.
