I need to move the server off Citywest, as the website will soon have a new owner
If I do go ahead with the move tonight, it will be down for an hour or more, depending on how fast things go.
If I don’t get a chance to do it tonight, the downtime will happen on Saturday night.

Will fill you in on the details once they’re finalized. But basically the site is leaving Rupert, leaving my basement, and someone else will be the owner. Other than that, it should be the same.

Iit’s been almost 24 hours since I updated the DNS for the site to point at the new address. The DNS record has a TTL of 60 minutes. Yet I just checked the old address (my basement), and people are still posting on there. Weird.
Oh well, I guess once their computers get the new address, they’ll be wondering where their posts went.
So someone didn’t put a redirect in and lost the post where I explained the True Meaning Of Life The Universe and How To Get Rich Quick too, eh?
Hey Herbie what’s the speed like from there? Is HTMF faster or slower?
It’s much faster. I’m at home on Navigata, increased ping time (70-75ms & way more hops) but loads way quicker.
Is there any reason why I can’t load HTMF on my laptop but I can with my cell phone?
Do you get an error message when you try on your laptop? If so, what is it?
You might just need to empty or flush your DNS cache. Try rebooting your laptop. Your computer may have the old IP address saved in its memory.
Also, if anybody has an avatar that doesn’t load properly, please try re-uploading it. Some stuff screwed up in the permissions. I’m trying to figure it out, but until I do, it’s just as easy to just use a new avatar.
