How Fast is your Download Speed?

So Citywest claims we get 512 kbps upstream and 5 mbps downstream
I get that we’re on cable internet plans and it varies with the amount of people on at one time. But I myself get a average download speed of about 3.8 mbps download and 124 kbps upload. And a 16 ms ping I’m on 9th east.

Heres a link to test yours I’m just wondering if it varies around town?

I mean I’ve stayed all over the province and 30 bucks for “5mbps” download speeds is Re Re.

Well, the downside is that, while my ISP only charges me about 2000 yen per month for the account, NTT charges about 6000 yen for my fiber optic line. Still, it’s worth every yen of it!

(FYI: if you want the conversion rate, Google “8000 JPY in CAD”)

That’s shitty, feeding 45Mb into the switch only getting 15 max out of any port. Got a small boost flashing my home router with dd-wrt.

From Red Deer County to the BC North Coast.

Few minutes later:

OMG what shitty upload speed!

This is my new 3G connection with Rogers. $60 a month only 10 gig cap. It’s a heck of a lot faster than the other option in the bush where i am and that’s a dial up. So I won’t complain. Also have my phone line through Rogers wireless.

seems to fluctuate.

Cannot even stream netflix…on low grade…FUCK

You’re implying there’s something wrong with your connection and posting proof there’s nothing wrong with it at the same time?
