Highway 16 between Terrace and Prince Rupert will be closed 45km west of Terrace for eight hours beginning 10 p.m. tonight because of maintenance at a CN level crossing.
CN needs to do work on its track that crosses the highway there and that involves removing asphalt and replacing railway ties. The 10 p.m. August 7 closure is set to end at six a.m. Friday, August 8.
Made it with 30 minutes to spare! Otherwise would have had to spend the night in Terrace.
Ha ha, good thing you made it MiG! The other day when we were driving through there we got stuck at that crossing for over 20 minutes as a train crossed. I know it would be a huge expense, and blah blah blah, but it would be great if there was some sort of overpass or something.
