Guess where this is (#4!)

Just north of Wales?

Nope. 13 left.

Is this a port where past explorers departed6

Not any explorer I know. 12 left.

Also, now that we know it’s UK (Great Britain & Northern Ireland), you’ll see my hesitation in answering the “is it an island” question. Would a part of either be considered an island for this contest?

Is it Liverpool?

nope. 11 questions left. Read the current answers carefully so not to waste questions.

Liverpool is just north of Wales, isn’t it?

Also, to clarify the “just north of wales” answer: this location is not within 100km of the northern border of wales.

Interesting tidbit about Liverpool: Prince Rupert led the siege of Liverpool during the English Civil War in 1644.

It’s in cornwall

The dot is on a city named Gunwallow

What I thougth was an inlet is a freshwater lake called The Loe Poolhttp://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/regions/devoncornwall/coastline_loepool.html

Now as for significance historically?

Sorry, that’s not right. 10 left.

You can’t count my last post because I didn’t ask a yes/ no question 8) .

It’s not Gunwalloe. You’re a bit off. Wrong scale

Marconi!

This is the site of the first translatlantic wireless transmission. Poldhu Cove in Cornwall. The message was sent from there to Signal Hill NFLD in December 1901.

Okay, I think this game is getting a little out of hand  BigThumb, having trouble sleeping? But you still have to wait until this morning to find if you are correct. Score: MiG 2, BigThumb 1, Dave 0

I’ve been up late like this quite often. I can’t help it, some sleep pattern mix-up.
But I know I’m right!!!

Yay!

I took a bunch of aerial pics yesterday. If you guys have any requests for aerial pics of specific places in the lower half of the province, I can probably arrange that. Mind you I’m limitied to about 11,000 feet, so satellite style images aren’t possible.

Sample from yesterday

So BigThumb, do you have another pic at the ready, or do you mind if I make a submission of me own? You did win the challenge, but only because I hadn’t been playing…
Seriously though, I think I’ve got a good one. Tough, but good.

Hey Ramallah! Where’ve you been?

Go for it, start a new topic, though.

As the winner of the last challenge, I could post a pic but I would rather let Ramallah post his picture. Go ahead, I give you my privilege!

Where’ve I been? Down in Van going to school / running a College Pro Painting franchise at the moment. Going to SFU at the moment, although I’ve been thinking lately about switching completely and going to BCIT for some tech stuff. Keep in mind of course that last week I was thinking about McGill for business, so I change my mind a lot.

As far as the site’s concerned, I check up from time to time, but all the folks that were there back in the beginning seem to have moved on, and so have I. I’m content to let the new generation of HTMF’ers make their own *.axe jokes.

I did like this latest game though, so I thought I’d participate. Speaking of which, my submission can be found here
