The morality and safety of genetic engineering has been in question since its debut, over twenty years ago. Environmentalists, religious leaders, and governing bodies have all taken a firm stand against a science which, at it’s core, is useful, helpful, convenient, practical and will greatly benefit mankind and the natural world.
The most commonly genetically engineered plants are rice and corn. This not withstanding, the first genetically modified organism, or GMO, introduced for distribution to consumers was the, “Flavr Savr,â€Cut and paste works wonders, eh, wondermike?
