When you set up a new Windows system DO NOT connect it to the Internet. Turn your router OFF.
Windows now forces you to use a Microsoft account if it’s connected upon setup.

Q: Anyone know if there’s a fix for Windows Companion? After v1809 there’s no longer the option to Import from Wifi in Photos. That was damn handy to send one photo from the iPhone to the laptop quickly.

Click on “join domain instead” and then “set up account without a Microsoft account” or something like that.

I’ll look for that next install haven’t noticed that choice ever. Sounds like MS. Click Join a Domain if you don’t want to join a domain…
