Okay after 22 years of everything being as difficult and complicated as possible (Murphy’s Law Strictly Emforced) I GET THE MESSAGE
I have been planning to attend my cousins wedding since July.
My tech quits without notice. I work 14 hour days and literally put up a sign and hand out cards referring ppl to my competitor for repairs, of course they start POURING IN 2 days before I leave.
The day I’m supposed to leave I hang around til 1:00 because the girl is sick, can’t come in.
Drive to Vancouver on THE VERY DAY CLAMAV CRASHES all the old versions and shuts down both my mail servers, which I don’t find out til 7 pm as its the first day in YEARS I was not on the damn Net all day…
Friday nite in Van with family from Truro and it’s 20 outside this evening and I’m on a stoopid terminal fixing stoopid computers in that stoopid town.
I AM NOT GOING BACK all 600 can switch to gmail aaaauuuugggghhhhhhh
Oh man, what a bummer, herbie! I hope you get your mail servers up and running soon. Enjoy the weather and the wedding down in Lotus Land!
i would have said FUCK IT! lol! FML eh Herb ?
yeehaw fuckin murphys law is right hope it ends well
Coulda just asked nice and i woulda fixed it free. I’m in a good mood today.
If you had asked on here, I’d have come over and looked after the place for free! (Ok, well, I guess if i HAD offered and found out I couldn’t fly because of the ash cloud that would have been Murphys Law again!)
I’ll add my name to the list of people you could have asked for help… I would have set up a gmail domain for you
Appreciate the offers guys. I just hashed out the filter with amavis line in postfix main and they can deal with spam and fedex zip files until I go back.
I just get frustrated that every single time I try to get away there’s a total disaster back home almost immediately. It way beyond coincidence.
I just hope the band used mail.nameofserver.tld instead of IP addresses in their exchange servers! No way for me to know until Monday…
