First wolf sighting

I saw my first wolf tonight just a few min ago and had to share it with ya…it was on Frederick st right beside Camarillo lane , he was tall his tail in between his legs, I pulled up beside him, he was watching the other car coming at us, he let out a big yawn and a little yelp. i whisted at him, he bolted in to the trees. I wich I had a camera with me. we were only a few feet from each other.

Man it was great…

We heard a bunch of them howling just across the street from the Butze Rapids trail. Eeeery scary!

Of course, wolves usually don’t attack people. But as my friend Georges used to say, we’re not positive that all wolves read the same studies that we do.

Also, saw one crossing the highway just outside of Port Edward a couple of weeks ago.

I heard there was an incident involving a wolf a few days ago in that same area. Someone was walking their dog and the wolf grabbed it. They found the dog later on, dead. That’s what I heard anyhow.

Well, I’ve never taken my dog on the Butze trail for that very reason. I try not to take him in the wilderness unless I can carry my SKS.

I’ve put way too much time into the dog to have him run away and be eaten by wolves.

i want to get pics some day…I love wolves…thats why i bought my fancy Canon video recorders, just need some time to get some footage now…

any takers… does any of you guys go out and take pictures together ?

Maybe plan a htmf picture taking event?

Anyways… I live up on Jamaica and I’ve seen one this year and pretty much every year I’ve lived here. They follow the deer through here. I can always tell when the deer and the wolves are around… my lab goes apeshit barking away at the forest.

After a series of sightings earlier this spring, wolves are again at Prince Rupert’s door.

On Sat. July 30, a wolf in the area of Frederick Street and Hays Cove Avenue attacked and carried off a small dog while it was being walked by its owner, said police. [/quote]

If anyone is going out on a photo safari, let me know. I would like to tag along.
