Favorite Movie(s)

“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”

I missed that :unamused:

Off the top of my head:

Donnie Brasco
Love Actually
Indiana Jones
Trainspotting
The Royal Tenenbaums
Garden State
Requiem For A Dream
Saw

And for a new movie… SIN CITY really gets me pumped up!

Yeah, it’s what was on the typewriter in the movie.

Also, I agree with Charles_T – Sin City was great.

The piece of paper is suppose to say…

Feelin’ Fine.

Sin City just sliced its way up to my number three favourite movie of all time.

  1. Star Wars:Empire Strikes Back
  2. Donnie Darko
  3. Sin City
  4. Fight Club
  5. Tarantino Movies
  6. Jersey Series (kevin smith)
  7. Die Hard Trilogy
  8. Indiana Jones Trilogy
  9. Trainspotting
  10. Band Of Brothers (made for tv movie series)

My favorite movies are Scarface, Training Day, Full Metal Jacket and Boon Dock Saints. these are very good flicks

Horror movies don’t scare me. I like movies that shock the hell out of you.

Happiness. That movie was fucked up. Just jaw dropping. Funny too.

In fact, I lost the CD I had that one on. Time to go find it again.

I just watched Happiness… I wasn’t a big fan.

I’m all about the drugging, raping and pedophelia, but leaving your wife but not commiting to a divorce, that’s just not classy.

Boondock Saints

That dude who was putting postcards on his wall… I just about lost my cookies the first time I saw that. I guess the same director/creator/producer/whoever has another movie out called Storytelling. Anyone seen that?

Word. I’ve seen Storytelling.

I couldn’t stop giving High Fives throughout the whole of the movie.

Commando
Old and non-hollywood Jackie Chan
Meet the Parents
Hulk

Here are my faves, in no particular order:

The Shawshank Redemption
Office Space
American Beauty
Scent of a Woman
Braveheart
Easy Rider
The Usual Suspects
Seven
Silence of the Lambs
Pi

I also really liked this Bollywood flick I saw a while back called Kaante. It was really bad, but that’s the point. Where else but in a Bollywood flick can you see these badass Indian gangsters talking about robbing a bank one minute and then breaking into a song-and-dance routine the next? And strangely enough, they don’t look the least bit stupid when they do it.

OK, maybe a little. But it still works.

Oh yeah, and how can I forget Lost in Translation? That was surprisingly accurate.

some movies that come to mind:

best of the best
hoosiers
requiem for a dream
ju on
enter the dragon
happy gilmore
rush hour
harold and kumar
LION KING

and many more…

The Commitments
Ghost World
On the Waterfront
Cool Hand Luke
Wings of Desire
Pulp Fiction
Donnie Darko
Magnolia
Lost in Translation
Duck Soup
Fight Club
Kill Bill: Volumes 1 & 2
Almost Famous
Say Anything
The Shawshank Redemption
and
Rushmore

Batman

Tough choice for this thread.

  1. Tombstone
  2. Fast and the Furious
  3. Goodfellas
  4. Menace to Society
  5. My Bodyguard (Old movie fromthe 80’s I used to watch when I was young.

Hey cyprusavenue, what is Duck Soup?

It’s the funniest movie I’ve ever seen. It’s my favorite Marx Brothers movie. If old comedy is your thing, you must see it. If you do, let me know what you think.

Oh, and Goodfellas is a fantastic movie. I probably should have put it on my list as well. Next time…
