(from the City’s website)

Dismal turnout, but on the other hand it means that votes that were cast were ‘worth more’

According to the elections Prince Rupert website

The voter turn out was 35.3%

There were 9013 eligible voters and 3,184 cast votes

Edit: LOL you beat me to the punch there Mig

I think I’m having more fun watching the Farley Stewart/Gabe McLean race to the bottom.

But my greatest disappointment is the 35% turnout.

That’s 2/3rd of the ballots counted. I think it’s safe to say that there won’t be much change in the numbers.

Kudo’s to all the people that ran for election, hoping to make a difference.
With a 35% turnout, we deserve whatever doesn’t happen!
November 11th just passed, and all those sacrifices made by the armed forces’ members in all those hideous wars, 65% of you have insulted their efforts and sacrifices. Anyybody that didn’t vote, shame on you!

On a positive note, we can conclude that perhaps 30% of the people of PR turned out for the craft fair???

Congratulations to all the Candidates and to your supporters!! It does take courage to put your name forward and those who invested in the local economy here to assist the small business owners. Thank you.

Your desire to be part of our community and to see change is important. We all have lots to contribute to our community and it is my hope those who are on Council and Board of Trustees will continue to be committed to working for the best interest of our community as a whole. Working together, we can accomplish much more.

I wish you all the Very Best and yes I will see you in the community.

Cheers,
Corinna

That is the race which I was watching closely . They were almost neck to neck but Gabe finally passed Farley to win . Is there a message here for one of those two ? How many times is that now Dorthy ?

Wonder what the odds are of 12 running for council.
All 5 woman got in and 1 openly gay male is the 6th,
All 6 men lost.
Not judging or anything, just a bit of a quirk.

Perhaps it tells us the crafts fare attracts more females than male.
Perhaps the public felt they were more qualified…
The real issue is why the low turn out, it kind of reflects on the whole of who’s running and the opinion of the populace of the lack of hope for change…
Another one of my 2 cent opinions…
YMMV

I think it goes more to the personalities - three of those men I wouldn’t allow in my home, one I did vote for, and the other 2 I don’t know and what I saw during the campaign didn’t impress me.

Oh good a new game for htmf, guess the three candidates no one would allow in their home. The polls are open!
