Don Cherry's Sports Grill opening in PR

Don Cherry’s Sports Grill franchise is opening up inside Chances Casino where the Lush Lounge used to be. Should be opening soon or may already be open, looks like it is already open according to the official website.

Just was looking at the menu online, I can’t wait to try it out.

Will be a big improvement I hope.

Any reviews? How was the food and service?

I thought the food was good but service was so so… need more young servers…

Was he there?
Will he be?
Not that I’m a fan but I find it strange that a celebrity themed bar opening doesn’t contain the celebrity.
Or was he there?
If so the marketing wasn’t that good…

Young servers are not a prerequisite for good service nor does years of experience make a good server.
Competency has nothing to do with age.
However if your referring to a preference to ogle younger T&A why not just cut to the chase and say it?

I meant nothing of T&A, after all I am a female myself.
older age does play a role with how fast you can run around and serve tables… you can be all the personality but if I cant get a beer fast enough to even consider getting a buzz for the popular wings and beer night then there IS a problem with service.

just shortly after the opening of don cherrys, I and one of my friends decided to check out the place out. Approximately 20 people were in the bar which I didn’t consider as really busy. We sat there for twenty minutes with nobody coming to take our orders. We left disappointed with the lack of service. On the first Canuck playoff game we returned and decided to give them another chance. We sat down and a server came within 5 minutes. She explained that she was very busy and she would do her best to serve us. After she left, I made a remark to my friend that here we go again, a repeat of our previous experience. Almost immediately, the bar manager came to our table and stated that they were short of servers. This was okay until she made the next remark that if we didn’t like it we should go somewhere else. We decided to stay anyways as we were joined by 4 other friends. I found it rather strange they would be short handed on this occasion (playoff game) however the remark by the manager was totally inexcusable. The waitress serving our table was exceptional. My hat goes off to her. Unfortunately the food quality was only mediocre. Each person at our table rated their meal and the overall experience on a scale of 1 to 10. The food scores averaged 5. The overall experience scores averaged 6. I doubt that our group will be returning.

^ Me and my wife were there on Saturday afternoon, the place was fairly busy and we had exceptional service, above and beyond to be honest. There was two servers working the lounge and bar area.

I was very impressed considering how the place was run before.
