I have tons of spyware on my computer, probably.
But if it’s unobtrusive and unnoticed, I don’t really care.
Actually, the record at DataBoy is an on-site residence for 1300+. It was a PIII Win ME boxen that took the better part of 5 minutes to complete booting at the desktop. And that’s with everything disabled in msconfig.
Lots of double installs and CoolWWWSearch variants - especially the one that shuts down any proggy or site related to spyware removal.
Half their IE screen was search bars. I was impressed. It takes a lot to impress me these days 
And it was an older couple who’s grandkids routinely came by to “use the PC”.
It’s absolutely amazing how spyware and malware has completely overtaken virus infections as the major problem on desktops. I’ve had people ready to replace their P4s because they’re laden ith spyware.
SpywareBlaster is the best tool I’ve found so far - blocks all this crap from being installed in the first place. Google it, or look for it on SpyBots’ Immunize page.
