Citywest starting to block sites?

Tried to go to thepiratebay.org and it said connection timed out. I tried to access the site thought a proxy site and it worked. Some US isp’s are starting to block sites like thepiratebay.org. Is Citywest stepping in line to do the same??

A couple of traceroutes:

From California:

Notice both are dropping at srstubes.net – that’s probably where the blocking is going on.

If you have a proxy that routes around that, then you can access it.

Nothing to do with Citywest.

srstubes.net/

That’s some rather important routing being done from a self-confessed small internet company that chose a name reflective of the joke “The internet is a series of tubes.” Smells of DOJ. lol

Their hosting:

Co-location package 1:
» 1U Rack server
» 512 gigabyte traffic
» Gigabit interface
» As many IPv4 addresses you need
» IPv6 stateless auto configuration
» Your own /64 IPv6 Network (optional)
» DMCA and copyright claims will be ignored

I was able to connect and i never use that site

AAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH, matey!

I just tried connecting directly, that worked just fine. I don’t use piratebay.org.

kickasstorrents.com FTW!!!

Demonoid.me FTW you mean…

*arez-bb.org for me, I can’t stand torrents for the life of me so I pay $10 a month to get a constant 700KB/s for every single download

No proxy needed. I don’t know why it wasn’t working the otherday, but now the address works no problem.
