that is probably a corporate account and they are on the fibre optic line directly, compared to us mere mortals, but that is still slow for a fibre optic hookup
How long tell Telus comes to Rupert? already in Terrace so hopefully soon. CityWest needs competition for them to get with the times. 5mbs as the fastest option is ridiculous.
I guess I am relighting old thread here but,
I have Citywest.Citywest has open up a bunch more pipe now. I am in Kitimat and I game a lot and do little bit of downloading. I do not have any complaints about their service,

how are you getting 10 mbps with city west? this isn’t even an option with them, 5mbps is the fastest they offer, which is pretty hurting.

an employee at citywest? tell them to hurry up and offer faster speeds at reasonable prices, this 5 mbps is barely cutting it, it’s my only problem with city west

The 20 meg packages are in testing mode right now In Terrace I believe, I Am thinking maybe this fall it will be good to go. Price wise I do not know. That’s above my payscale to say anything.
lol Speedtest.net or DSLreports readouts.
So, folks think Citywest does not open the throttle and routing from the internal side to sites like those? Considering the given subject matter and statements directly from the article, I personally find the “Speed Tests” a little “fishy.”
Try any other site like Microsoft. Download a service pack in Rupert. LOL. 300Kb max. And that’s even rare. The big guys are capable of pushing full 1MB downloads. Anything real-world is crap speed compared to what we pay for it.

I regularly get pretty good speeds at around 500 kb/sec especially if my teenager isn’t at home.
You can always have a look at your router. A really cheap router can be a bottle neck for download speeds.
I get a little over 700KB/s all the time on my Cable connection here in Rupert.
However, I’ll be getting a 100mbps connection in Prince George in the near future.
I can only dream about speeds like that, and at $75 a month that’s supercheap.
I had 40mbps from Shaw in Prince George last year was pretty sic
I have been really happy with Citywest lately. Keep up the good work…
