I am curious. I currently have a contract with Rogers that expires in the summer of 2020. I would like to keep my current data plan. If I buy an unlocked phone will I be able to transfer my SIM card from my iPhone to the new phone and access the Rogers network?

Yup. I always buy unlocked phones so that I can swap SIMs. Works great when travelling too – no need to pay for expensive roaming. Just buy a local SIM.
But once your contract is over, look around at other options. I’m currently on Public Mobile (on the Bell & Telus network), and I’m paying just under $30/month now.
