The state of Alaska has its eye on a piece of land in Prince Rupert, hoping to take over the shoreline, terminal and dock that houses the Alaska Marine Highway location on the North coast.
The Alaska Ferry system chief Jim Beedle, claims that the Alaska system needs to takeover the dock in order to operate their system in an effective and successful manner, especially as Canada at the moment doesn’t seem inclined to spend the seven to eight million dollars that Alaska estimates is required for a proper repair and long term enhancement of the dock in Rupert.
