Accident On Highway?

A friend and I were coming back from Terrace.
There was a short line up along the river opposite side, and there appeared to be some removal of the cement barrier…
Anyone know anything?

It looked to me like a vehicle had plowed through that barrier.  I thought I saw tire marks/skid marks heading straight into the empty part of the wall.  It looked like something tragic happened.  There was a police car and a highway vehicle there when I passed by.

it was a Semi with two trailers. the trailers ended up in the river, and was a big mess… No one was injured ((was on the police scanner))

Wow, imagine if the trailers had gone the other way across the oncoming lane?  Could have gotten really ugly  :astonished:
Glad nobody was hurt.  I hope the truck drivers take note and check their loads/equipment better.

It looked to me like it must have crossed the oncoming lane.  In my passing of the scene it appeared the vehicle had originally been heading in the direction of Rupert, crossed the road in a skid and headed right through the concrete barrier over the edge and into the river.

Thank God nobody was coming from the other direction at the time.

like the one police officer had said…a Lot of people could have been hurt/killed in this…luckly no one was.

The driver fell asleep at the wheel and hit the no post (barracade in lamans terms), when the load of lumber went into the Skeena at 100 km/, the fith wheel broke and the driver is very lucky it broke, usually they don"t and he would be dead in the skeena river.

I had too clean up the mess yesterday
brake parts and lumber all up and down the river banks
most of the wood is going down the river and will end up in the ocean lol
